Surface Duo 2 is a dual-screen mobile device that is thin and lightweight to fit in the pocket; 2 screens connected by a revolutionary 360° hinge that enables multiple postures to fit in different use scenarios. I was one of the main contributors to the design and led the iconic Dynamic triple lens rear-facing camera, which is one of the key differentiator and improvements from its predecessor. Cameras in the mobile phone industry is a highly competitive and constrained space due to the complexity of components. The camera bump being on a foldable architecture presents its own set of challenges. I drove the design through the best graphical layout and relentlessly pushed through all the technical obstacles.
